Welcome
Welcome and thank you for visiting Villa Precision International (VPI), the world’s
leader in precision scribe technology for thirty-five years.
In 1974, VPI developed the world’s first specialized glass scriber for the emerging
Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Industry. Since then VPI has introduced twenty-six
different high production, high precision, high yield, flat, convex, or aspheric,
glass scribing and breaking machines to the rapidly expanding thin-film Industries.
VPI equipment delivers unparalleled quality, yield and production performance to
customers in twenty-nine (29) countries of the world.
VPI Precision Glass Scribing Technology provides After Break Dimensional Tolerance
(ABDT), After Break Edge Quality (ABEQ), with such consistency, that grinding is
either eliminated or reduced as much as 75%. Given that grinding accounts for 30-50%
of overall costs, a 25-75% reduction delivers a 7.5 to 37.5% decrease in costs,
which transfer directly to the bottom line.
VPI, realizing the need to develop a more interactive Human-Machine Interface, developed
a comprehensive MS-Windows based user interface, including the capability of scribing
nearly any shape imaginable on flat, convex, or aspheric substrates with the industry’s
first DXF-conversion from any CAD program.
In 2002 VPI developed the world’s first motion-controlled convex glass scriber for
automotive mirror industry. Further development gave birth to DynaTilt™ technology
capable of processing a convex substrate with a radius of curvature as little as
240mm and increasing parts per substrate (reduces Cost of Goods) significantly.
Our goal for this site is to provide customers and industry professionals with a
source for accurate and relevant technical documentation that will enhance their
glass scribing experiences, yields, production and profits.
